About Baris Yazar
Baris began his journey into the arts at a young age through his passion for poetry and music. He has been successfully performing and teaching Capoeira (an afro-Brazilian art form) and Movement sessions for two decades in London. His outstanding capacity and contribution as a teacher to the community was recognised as a multi time Lukas award winner ‘Best Brazilian Dance Teacher of the year’.
In addition to teaching, Baris has performed at many prestigious venues, including: The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena and the opening of the O2 Arena. He has also hosted workshops and taught in many schools and institutions (Laban, The Place, Central School Of Speech and Drama), at events and festivals, throughout the Uk, Europe and in the United States.
Baris is also a qualified soft tissue therapist and yoga instructor. For the last 10 years has also lectured on movement at the University of East London: Urban Dance Practice BA(hons) diploma.
